Fantasy Football Expert Guide Pickups for Week 8 of the 2015-16 NFL Season

FantasyPros

Position Player
Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick
Running Back Theo Riddick
Wide Receiver Danny Amendola
Tight End Eric Ebron

Nathaniel Reeves of FantasyPros gives us a hot waiver wire pickup for each offensive position in fantasy football, with the exception of kicker. Your passing offense should get a surge with three pickups in quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, wide receiver Danny Amendola and tight end Eric Ebron.

[sc:NFL240banner ]Fitzpatrick threw for a season-high 295 yards and two scores Sunday against defending Super Bowl champ New England. He’s readily available in most leagues. He benefits a lot from a solid New York Jets offensive line, which has given him plenty of time in the pocked to find the likes of wide receiver Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker.

Speaking of wide receiver, New England’s Amendola is looking good as Tom Brady’s third option after Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski. Amendola put together his best performance of the season with seven receptions for 105 yards in Week 6 against the Colts. He backed that up in Week 7 with 85 yards and a touchdown. That’s back-to-back double-digit fantasy points in fantasy formats. Get him as soon as you can.

Detroit tight end Ebron has received at least five targets in each of his starts this season, scoring at least 10 fantasy points in four games. He has a team-high three touchdowns this season, ranking fourth among all tight ends.

Bleacher Report

Position Pick 1 Pick 2 Pick 3
Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick Jameis Winston
Running Back Alfred Blue Chris Polk Orleans Darkwa
Wide Receiver Stefon Diggs Danny Amendola Marvin Jones
Tight End Eric Ebron

Bleacher Report’s Alec Nathan supports Reeves’ pick of Ryan Fitzpatrick as one of the top waiver-wire pickups for Week 8 of the 2015 NFL Regular Season. If you can’t pick up Fitzpatrick, Nathan suggests picking Tampa Bay’s rookie quarterback Jameis Winston.

Winston has been pretty solid as a rookie, passing for 1,471 yards and nine touchdowns thus far this season. He had his biggest game to date against Washington, posting career-highs of 297 yards and 72.4 completion percentage. He passed for two touchdowns and no interceptions. Winston faces a favorable Atlanta pass defense, which allows 275 yards per game (25th in the league).

Running back Alfred Blue and wide receiver Stefon Diggs rounds up Nathan’s top pickups of the week. Blue should get plenty of touches in the Houston backfield. He flashed his potential with 139 yards and a score in a victory over Tama Bay in Week 3. Minnesota’s Diggs has been one of Teddy Bridgewater’s primary targets. He has now topped 80 yards receiving in all three of his appearances, including back-to-back 100-yard games.

NESN

Position Pick 1 Pick 2 Pick 3 Pick 4 Pick 5
Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick Ryan Tannehill
Running Back  Alfred Blue  Charcandrick West David Cobb Orleans Darkwa
Wide Receiver  Stevie Johnson  Albert Wilson Michael Floyd Danny Amendola  Marvin Jones
Tight End Eric Ebron Jordan Reed Charles Clay

The NESN staff is also pretty high on Ryan Fitzpatrick, but gives us the option of picking up Miami’s Ryan Tannehill at quarterback. Tannehill had a horrible first four weeks, throwing for seven touchdowns and five interceptions. He also lost a fumble as he scored 15 or less fantasy points in standard formats. But Tannehill made up for it with strong outings after his Week 5 bye, most recently scoring 27 points with 282 yards and four touchdowns against Houston.

The staff also gives us a wide receiver to go after in San Diego’s Stevie Johnson. The veteran wideout is part of the league’s most prolific passing offense this season. Quarterback Philip Rivers is regularly turning heads as he passes for about 350 yards per game.

Johnson has been targeted by Rivers at least five times in all five games he’s played this year, which would be a bonus for PPR (point per reception) leagues. He’s caught two touchdowns in his first two weeks of the season and should find the end zone on more occasions as the season progresses.
