Buffalo’s playoff hopes were dealt a major blow on Sunday when it suffered a disappointing 23-20 defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles. Caleb Sturgis kicked the go-ahead 30-yard field goal with 3:26 left to ruin not only LeSean McCoy’s homecoming, but also the Bills’ wild card chances. Buffalo has now lost three of their last four games.

[sc:NFL240banner ]The Bills will look to get their season back on track when they face the Washington Redskins this coming Sunday. For the Bills to return to winning ways, they will need to cut down on their penalties.

Buffalo had 14 penalties for 96 yards that stalled its offense against Philadelphia. The team leads the league in that department this season, accumulating a whopping 1,086 penalty yards on the offensive end this campaign.

Apart from that, the Bills also need to get major production from McCoy. He was effective in the first half against Philadelphia, gaining 63 yards on 12 carries and adding 16 yards on two catches. But the Eagles figured him out in the second half, limiting him to just 11 yards on eight carries. He has been a disappointment in his first season with the Bills, rushing for just 792 yards and three scores thus far this campaign.

McCoy will now look towards getting his running game going against a Washington defensive line that’s allowing 121.3 yards per game on the ground this season, ninth-worst in the NFL.

The Bills are 3-3-1 ATS on the road this season.

Buffalo Bills vs Washington Redskins Predictions, Picks and Preview

The Washington Redskins returned to winning ways Sunday with a thrilling 24-21 victory over the Chicago Bears. It was a fantastic win by the Redskins, who are now tied with the Eagles at the top of the NFC East with three games remaining in their season.

Leading the way for the Redskins in this critical victory was Kirk Cousins. He completed 24-of-31 passes for 300 yards and a touchdown with one interception. It was an incredible performance by Cousins, who registered a passer rating of 104.2. Also stepping up big time for the Redskins was tight end Jordan Reed. He caught nine passes for 120 yards and a score.

Their excellent play will serve Washington in good stead ahead of its clash with Buffalo. The Redskins will fancy their chances in this ballgame as they have fared extremely well at home this season. They are 5-2 at FedEx Field this year.

For Washington to continue its home dominance, the team will need Cousins to play a highly efficient game. In the Redskins’ six wins this year, Cousins has thrown just one interception. Compare that to their seven losses this campaign, wherein he has been picked off a total of 10 times.

The Redskins are 4-3 ATS at home this season.

Writer’s Prediction

Washington (+1) wins, 27-20, to record back-to-back victories for the first time this season.
