[sc:NBAArticles ]Memphis Grizzlies vs. Denver Nuggets (9:00 PM ET)
Line: Memphis Grizzlies (-2) vs. Denver Nuggets (+2); total: 194.5– view all NBA lines
The Memphis Grizzlies ride into this matchup as winners of five of their previous six contests and are currently on a three-game winning streak (2-1 ATS).
[sc:NBA250 ]Marc Gasol has been leading the way for the team, posting 16.6 points, 6.6 boards, 3.1 assists and 1.3 blocks through nine games in January. That stretch includes a 37-point outburst against New York last Saturday. Gasol should be able to continue making his presence felt opposite a porous Denver Nuggets defense that’s allowing 103.5 points and 41.9 points in the paint this season.
Speaking of the Nuggets, they’ll be looking to regroup once again after falling short to the visiting Thunder on Tuesday night, 110-104. In that game, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook combined for 57 points which proved to be too much to overcome.
On the bright side though, Danilo Gallinari continued to impress with his second-straight 20-point performance. Across 19 home games this year, he is putting up 19.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.4 dimes.
Memphis is 3-7 SU and 3-6-1 ATS in its last 10 road games. Denver, meanwhile, is 1-4 SU and 3-2 ATS in its previous five meetings with the Grizzlies.
Writer’s Prediction
Nuggets (+2) win a thriller, 101-95.
San Antonio Spurs vs. Phoenix Suns (10:30 PM ET)
Line: San Antonio Spurs (-14) vs. Phoenix Suns (+14); total: 200.5– view all NBA lines
Who can stop the San Antonio Spurs right now? The five-time NBA champions are sizzling hot right now with a league-best 11-game winning streak. During that span, they’ve won by almost 20 points—17.5 to be exact—and are scoring 109.7 points per game. It’s hard to see them lose this very favorable matchup against the struggling Phoenix Suns, who are on a five-game slide.
As for the Suns, they’ll continue to lean on arguably their only reliable offensive threat in Brandon Knight to help them stop the bleeding. Knight, the 24-year-old point guard from Kentucky, is averaging 19.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game this season. But he’s struggled considerably versus the Spurs, contributing just 13.0 points and 3.9 assists while shooting 37.1 percent from the field across nine career games.
San Antonio is 7-3 SU and ATS in its past 10 road games. Phoenix, on the other hand, is 3-7 SU and 5-5 ATS in its previous 10 at Talking Stick Resort Arena.
