England will go for the history books in Australia as they will aim to win four Ashes Series in-a-row for the first time since Australia did it in 1995 — and also, to make it four-in-a-row for the first time as a country since 1890.
This upcoming Ashes series in the Land Down Under breaks the trend of scheduling. Instead of waiting for the usual 18 months, the series resumes after only three months. With the tests closely looming, memories of the summer’s Ashes series in July and August may still be fresh in the mind.

This comes from knowing the conditions well, from having strong home support and by the opposition feeling homesick and uncomfortable in alien conditions.
However, nothing could have been further from the truth in 2010-11 in all those departments. Simply put, England had better players and outperformed the home team. The Australians will remember that well and will be out for redemption.
Unfortunately, Australia lost their linchpin Mike Hussey last winter, and Captain Michael Clarke is a hostage to fortune with his chronic back injury. Until Clarke comes back, Steve Smith, a late addition to the Australian squad during the last series, will likely step-up as the main allrounder, as he became only the sixth Australian to reach his maiden Test century with a six.

Also, England were not at their best last summer as the Australians lost closely in the first test, while tied the fourth and fifth tests. During those tests, they limited the production of England’s Cook and Jonathan Trott. If they can accomplish that in England, the Aussies are certainly confident they can do it at home.
The Australians are entering as underdogs. But the Aussies are no pushovers. They have improved and are looking to reclaim their rightful place in front of a home crowd
