East No. 13 – Stony Brook Seawolves (Overall: 26-6, Conf: 14-2)
Team Strengths:
Does Cinderella magic truly account for anything? This will be Stony Brook’s first-ever appearance at the Big Dance, thanks in large part to the Seawolves’ superstar in Jameel Warney. The senior forward went berserk for 43 points, 10 boards and four blocks in the America East’s conference championship game against Vermont, and could very well explode and turn plenty of heads again with his multi-faceted skill set.
Warney is averaging about 20 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks this season, and became the first player in 19 NCAA seasons to post totals of 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, 250 blocks, 200 assists and 100 steals in a single campaign. Having a tank such as he might just be enough for Stony Brook to pull off a surprising title run for the record books.Create a betting account now and cash in on all the NCAAB action.
Team Weaknesses:
Clutch situations on the national stage may come back to bite the relatively inexperienced Seawolves as they rank near the bottom of the nation’s rankings when it comes to free-throw and three-point shots made and attempted alike. Take away the imposing presence of Warney in Stony Brook’s post game, and the team could very well be puzzled and overwhelmed by other defensive schemes that they failed to encounter within their own rather mediocre low-major conference.

Writer’s Prediction:
The Seawolves prove to be mere myths at the Big Dance after all by failing to advance from the first round of play to a much superior program from a powerhouse conference.
