Betting Preview for the Adonis Stevenson vs Badou Jack WBC World Light Heavyweight Title Fight on May 19, 2018

Where: Air Canada Centre, Toronto

When: Saturday, May 19, 2018

TV Broadcast: Showtime

Betting on Adonis Stevenson (-170)

As mentioned earlier, Stevenson is older than Jack, as the Canadian is now 40. That said, he has yet to show any significant signs of slowing down. In fact, he has won all of his last 16 fights. In addition to that, Stevenson has knocked out each of his last three foes and four of his last five. He’s old but the punching power is still there plus he still moves well in the ring. In his most recent fight, Stevenson stopped Andrzej Fonfara in just the second round of their scheduled 12-round bout. If anything, Stevenson could be questioned because of rust, as he has only fought in two brief bouts since 2015. Stevenson has 29 win, 24 by way of knockouts, a loss (via KO) and zero draws. He’s shorter than Jack, but Stevenson has a one-inch reach advantage. The fact also that he has also fought most his fights in Canada should help him feel comfortable against Jack.

Betting on Badou Jack (+140)

Badou Jack will be wading into enemy territory for this fight, but he’s not going to be worried exchanging blows in Adonis Stevenson’s home country, Canada. Badou has been undefeated in his last seven fights, though, he only won six bouts during that stretch having drawn with James DeGale in January of last year. Jack is an orthodox fighter with a two-inch height advantage over Stevenson. Jack has fought before as a super middleweight and even though he moved up in class, he does appear to have carried his punching power with him. He showed that when he knocked out Nathan Cleverly in the fifth round of their WBA light heavyweight title fight in August 2017. Apart from being the taller fighter than Stevenson, Jack is also younger than his opponent by six years. Jack has 22 wins with 13 knockout victories to go with a  oss and a pair of draws.

Writer’s Prediction

Jack knocks out Stevenson in the ninth round.
