Betting on the Arizona Cardinals (2-3-1)
How about them Cards? The Cardinals secured their second win in a row on Sunday, taking down the Atlanta Falcons at home in a high-scoring game, 34-33. Kyler Murray continues to learn the ropes in the pros, and against the Falcons, he threw for 340 yards and three touchdowns with zero interceptions, while completing 27 of 37 passes. Arizona’s defense needs plenty of fixing, and though that’s going to be the case for likely the weeks to come, the game against the Giants should be a lighter challenge for Arizona. The Giants also have a rookie quarterback and a banged-up roster. Cardinals running back David Johnson , who had 34 rushing yards and a touchdown to go with 28 receiving yards and a score against the Falcons, may have bigger lanes to burst through in East Rutherford. The Giants are 24th in the NFL against the run.
The Cardinals are 3-0 against the spread (ATS) in their last three road games.
Betting on the New York Giants (2-4)
Daniel Jones got his first taste of the Tom Brady experience in Week 6, when the Giants fell prey to the New England Patriots in Foxboro, 35-14. The Giants were simply given a task too much for them to overcome, especially with some of their key players missing the game. Among them were running back Saquon Barkley and tight end Evan Engram. As of this writing, the status of the two players remain up in the air, but they have reportedly practiced on Monday. The Giants don’t seem to be in a rush to bring the players back, as they are aware that this isn’t the time to risk the health of their top players. Running back Wayne Gallman is also uncertain of his availability after sustaining a concussion in Week 5. If Barkley, Engram, and Gallman all miss the meeting with the Cardinals, Golden Tate will be the top weapon left to help Jones. The veteran wide receiver had 102 receiving yards and a touchdown against the Patriots.
The total has gone under in three of the Giants’ last three home games. They are also 2-2 ATS in their last four games overall.
Writer’s Prediction
The Cardinals win, 29-25.
