Atlanta Falcons vs Green Bay Packers Predictions, Picks, Odds, and Betting Preview | NFL Week 4 – October 5, 2020

The Green Bay Packers are out to get their win no. 4 on Monday, when they host the beleaguered Atlanta Falcons at Lambeau Field. The Packers have not started a season with a 4-0 record since 2015, but this game seems to offer a golden opportunity for them to pull it off again. However, the Falcons can play despite what they have gone through in the past weeks. Their offense can still bite and can put pressure on the Packets’ defense as well. Check out our preview of this game below.

Betting on the Atlanta Falcons (+7)

Regular Season Record: 0-3

The easy explanation for the Falcons’ string of collapse is that they may be hexed. But their biggest problem right now is their defense. That has to be fixed as soon as possible. The Falcons, who squandered a 16-point lead in the fourth quarter of their 30-26 loss to the Chicago Bears at home in Week 3, is last in the NFL in scoring defense with 36.0 points allowed per game. They are also second-worst with 463.3 total surrendered per contest. With Aaron Rodgers coming up next for the Falcons, Matt Ryan should extend control of the ball as long they can just to limit the time of their defense on the field. Atlanta can do it, since it is the sixth-highest scoring team in the league, averaging 30.0 points per game. The Falcons are also third in the NFL with 309.3 passing yards. An important factor to watch out for Atlanta is the availability of wide receivers Julio Jones and Russell Gage. Jones missed the Bears game with a hamstring issue, while Gage suffered a concussion.

The Falcons are 5-2 against the spread (ATS) in their last seven games overall.

Betting on the Atlanta Falcons

Betting on the Green Bay Packers (-6)

Regular Season Record: 3-0

The Falcons are coasting. With Rodgers steering the offense, the Packers have opened the season with three wins in a row, including last Sunday’s 37-30 road victory against the New Orleans Saints. Rodgers passed for 283 yards and three touchdowns against zero interceptions while completing 21 of his 32 pass attempts. Rodgers now has 887 passing yards and no picks thrown, so far this season. After getting gutted by opposing passing attacks, the last quarterback the Falcons would like to see challenge their leaky defense is Rodgers, who should be able to leave the field on Monday with fantastic numbers. Green Bay is tops in the NFL in scoring with 40.7 points per game and second with 459.7 total yards per contest. Rodgers will not have Allen Lazard to throw at after the wide receiver suddenly undergoes surgery to treat a muscle injury, but it seems that stud wideout Davante Adams is close to returning to action.

The Packers are 5-1 ATS in their last six home games.
