Betting on the Auburn Tigers (odds)

Record: 20-1 Overall/8-0 Conference

Auburn was too much for the Oklahoma Sooners, as the Tigers pulled off an easy 86-68 victory over the visiting Big 12 squad at home last Saturday. Jabari Smith put the NBA scouts on notice once again with another strong performance, scoring 23 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in the win against Oklahoma. Walker Kessler also added 21 points and nine boards for the Tigers, who are 11th nationally as of this writing with 79.7 points per game. Auburn is also 14th overall with 116.5 points per 100 possessions. On the other end of the floor, Georgia is about to find out why it’s tough to score at the rim versus Auburn. Bruce Pearl’s team is averaging 8.0 blocks per game to go with a 14.0 block rate – both No. 1 in the nation.

Auburn, which plays the Alabama Crimson Tide this Tuesday at home, is 3-1 against the spread in its last four road games.

Betting on the Georgia Bulldogs (odds)

Record: 6-15 Overall/1-7 Conference

After shocking the college basketball world with an 82-76 home win against the Alabama Crimson Tide back on Jan. 25th, the Bulldogs fell back down to earth, as they lost to the Vanderbilt Commodores last Saturday, 83-73. Defense has been a huge problem for Tom Crean’s team. The Bulldogs are just 300th in the nation with 108.5 points allowed per 300 possessions and 316th with 76.3 points allowed per contest. Georgia opponents are shooting a high 54.9 percent from the field, which must sound so exciting for Auburn. Nevertheless, as shown in their win over Alabama, the Bulldogs can sometimes put together a solid performance. The key for Georgia seems to be to go hard and be aggressive versus Auburn. The Bulldogs have to challenge the big guys of Auburn and draw plenty of fouls. Against Alabama, the Bulldogs shot 24/30 from the free-throw line.

Georgia, which plays the Arkansas Razorbacks this Wednesday, is 2-1 against the spread in its last three home games versus Auburn.

Writer’s Prediction

Auburn wins, 84-68.
