Betting on the Baltimore Ravens (+2.5)
Regular Season Record: 8-6
Without Lamar Jackson, the Ravens suffered their third defeat in a row in Week 15, as they lost to the Green Bay Packers at home, 31-30. Baltimore missed the services of Jackson in the Packers game due to an ankle injury he suffered in Week 15’s loss to the Cleveland Browns. If Jackson gets ruled out again for Week 16, the Ravens will be forced to turn to Tyler Huntley for quarterbacking duties. Huntley hasn’t looked bad, though, in lieu of Jackson. Against the Packers’ stout defense, Huntley went 28/40 for 215 passing yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions. He also rushed for 73 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries. He can really mimic what Jackson can bring to Baltimore. Tight end Mark Andrews will be a big weapon for the Ravens, regardless of who starts for them under center in Week 16. Andrews was near unstoppable in the Packers game, as he caught 10 of 13 targets for 136 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
The under is 8-2 in the Ravens’ last 10 games on the road.
Betting on the Cincinnati Bengals (-2.5)
Regular Season Record: 8-6
The Bengals found themselves back on top of the AFC North, thanks in large part to their 15-10 road win against the Denver Broncos in Week 15. That victory also snapped their two-game losing skid. Now, Cincinnati is staring at another opportunity to embarrass the Ravens, whom it defeated in Baltimore back in Week 7, 41-17. Joe Burrow and company can look forward to torching the Ravens’ defense again. For one, the Ravens’ stop unit has been tattered with injuries. In the first meeting with the Ravens, Burrow passed for 416 yards and three touchdowns, and a lone interception. Ja’Marr Chase laid waste downfield and racked up 201 yards and a touchdown on eight receptions and 10 targets. Given the status of Baltimore’s defense, seeing the Bengals explode on offense won’t be the most surprising thing to see in Week 16.
The Bengals are 3-2 against the spread in their last five games overall.
Writer’s Prediction
The Bengals win, 31-24.
