Betting on the Baltimore Ravens (+1)

Whoa. The Ravens are really taking this preseason thing seriously. After edging out the Chicago Bears in the Hall of Fame Game with a close 17-16 win, the Ravens then blew the Los Angeles Rams out of the water in Week 1 during a 33-7 victory. Rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson looked more at ease on the field in Week 2 than he did against the Bears, passing for 119 yards on 7-for-18 completions while also rushing for 21 yards on five carries. At this pace, Jackson could be expected to play with even more confidence and better results against the Colts. Robert Griffin III, meanwhile, kept himself in the mix for the No. 2 quarterback job behind Joe Flacco by competing five of seven passes for 88 yards and a touchdown. It doesn’t matter who’s starting or playing under center for the Ravens in the preseason; all of them have been fantastic, which explains why Baltimore is succeeding.

The Ravens are 10-0 SU and 9-1 ATS in their last 10 preseason games.

Betting on the Indianapolis Colts (-1)

The Colts defeated the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1, 19-17, but that’s not the most important takeaway from the game. Instead, it’s the return of Andrew Luck, who returned to action for the first time in over 500 days after recovering from a shoulder injury. Luck completed six of nine passes for 64 yards, and could see his workload increase this coming Monday against the Ravens. Baltimore does look like a very tough team to beat right now, but one key for the Colts to take the Ravens down is their pass rush. As mentioned, Baltimore’s quarterbacks have been in the zone, so Indianapolis will have to keep the pressure up in the pocket just like last week when they recorded four sacks. Hassan Ridgeway had two quarterback takedowns.

Indianapolis is 3-1 ATS in their last four preseason games.

Writer’s Prediction

Baltimore wins 27-24, and keeps their undefeated (since 2015) preseason streak alive. This is a fun one to bet on America!
