Betting on the Baltimore Ravens (2-0)

Lamar Jackson continues to be a touchdown-machine this season. Fresh off dismantling the Miami Dolphins, the Ravens leaned on Jackson once again to deliver the goods for the team in Week 2’s 23-17 home win over the Arizona Cardinals. Jackson passed for 272 yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions on 24 of 37 completions. He also set the field on fire with 120 rushing yards on 16 carries. Jackson is giving opposing defensive coordinators sleepless nights. He now has 596 passing yards and seven touchdowns with no interceptions. Jackson has been so good, Baltimore’s defense has become some sort of an afterthought. Nevertheless, the Ravens’ stop unit will play a critical part against the Chiefs, who have an electrifying quarterback of their own. The Ravens are fourth in the league with just 13.5 points allowed per game and second with only 274.5 total yards surrendered per contest.

The Ravens are 4-0 against the spread (ATS) in their last four road games.

Betting on the Kansas City Chiefs (2-0)

Patrick Mahomes is also putting up huge numbers at an insane pace this early in the season. In Week 2’s 28-10 road win over the Oakland Raiders, Mahomes lit up the air with 443 passing yards and four touchdowns with zero picks thrown on 30 of 44 completions. Mahomes is enjoying having such a deep and talented receiving corps with Demarcus Robinson seemingly coming into his own, rookie Mecole Hardman gaining more confidence, and Sammy Watkins having his limbs still working. In the Raiders game, Robinson led the Chiefs with 172 receiving yards and two touchdowns on six catches and six targets. Baltimore may have a solid defense, but the Ravens can still get confused with so many weapons downfield for Kansas City. The Chiefs are fourth in the league with 34.0 points per game and tops overall with 405.5 passing yards per outing.

The Chiefs are 2-1 ATS in their last three home games.

Writer’s Prediction

The Chiefs win, 27-24.
