Betting on the Baltimore Ravens (-4)
Regular Season Record: 2-0
It was a solo show under center for the Ravens last Saturday, with Tyler Huntley taking all the snaps at the quarterback position. Huntley went 24 of 34 for 187 passing yards. He was not able to throw for a touchdown and got intercepted, but he did march the team in scoring drives. It could be another heavy workload for Huntley in the preseason finale for Huntley, with Trace McSorley out with a back injury. But don’t discount Lamar Jackson completely from appearing in this game, even for just a few snaps. In any case, the offensive line will have to continue what it’s doing. The Ravens did not allow a sack in Week 2 and blocked well on the ground, leading to 167 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns on the ground.
The Ravens are 9-1 against the spread in their last 10 preseason games.
Betting on the Washington Football Team (+4)
Regular Season Record: 1-1
The Football Team are expected to put up a better showing offensively in the regular season even if that was not the case in Week 2 of the preseason. Washington lost to the Cincinnati Bengals at home last Saturday to the tune of a 17-13 score. The Football Team’s passing attack did not have much to write home about in that game, with Ryan Fitzpatrick leading the quarterback group with 96 yards on 7-of-13 completions. But at least no interceptions were thrown. There’s life definitely in the backfield with the running back corps. Jaret Patterson made a strong case why he deserves to survive the roster cuts by rushing for 71 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries against Cincy, while Antonio Gibson, a lock to make it, had 28 yards on seven rushing attempts.
The under is 5-0 in Washington’s last five preseason games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Football Team win, 17-16.
