The No. 1 Baylor Bears (+1000 to win the national title) are having success this season they haven’t had in many years. Will their unbeaten run continue this Wednesday when they take on the Iowa State Cyclones (+15000) in Ames? The Bears already beat Iowa State at home earlier this month, but the Cyclones can still be a dangerous team, especially when taken lightly.

Betting on the Baylor Bears (17-1 Overall / 6-0 Conference)
The Bears just keep on winning. Against a solid Florida Gators team, the Bears dominated a came away with a 72-61 win in Gainesville last Saturday. Although the Bears were the No. 1 ranked in the nation entering the game, they were labeled as the road underdog against an unranked Florida team that’s only 37th in the Net Rankings. The Bears didn’t think much of it but obviously were motivated by it, as they pummeled Florida, particularly on the glass, 37-26. The Bears are only 118th in the nation in scoring offense with 72.7 points per game, but they’re better than what that number suggests. For one, they are 18th nationally in adjusted offensive efficiency with 113.4 points per 100 possessions. The Bears simply like controlling the board and the pace. They don’t like to rush the ball down the court that much, which was also the case when they defeated Iowa State in Waco, 68-55, on Jan. 15, when Baylor was plus-12 in rebounds and plus-9 in offensive rebounds. On the season, the Bears are second in the Big 12 with 38.8 rebounds per contest.
The Bears are 6-0-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last seven road games.
Betting on the Iowa State Cyclones (9-10 Overall / 2-4 Conference)
The Cyclones need to recapture their shooting touch. The Cyclones were leading the Big 12 in field goal percentage prior to their meeting with the Auburn Tigers on the road last Saturday, but they could barely find the bottom of the net in an 80-76 loss, shooting just 36.2 percent from the field. It’s not about to get much better for Iowa State as it faces next Baylor’s tough defense again, but the Cyclones are hoping Tyrese Haliburton can come up with a more productive performance. Haliburton shot just 2 for 12 and finished with a mere six points in the loss to Baylor. Haliburton is the Cyclones’ leading scorer with 15.7 points per game, while Rasir Bolton is right behind him with 15.1 per outing. Bolton also shot poorly in the loss to the Bears, going only 3 for 10 from the floor to end up with nine points. Iowa State isn’t a deadly 3-point shooting team but it is 36th in the nation with a 53.4 percent shooting inside the arc.
The Cyclones are 2-0 ATS in their last two home games.
Writer’s Prediction
Baylor wins, 75-69.
