Betting on the Baylor Bears (odds)
Record: 10-0 Overall / 3-0 Conference
Baylor zoomed to their 10th win of the season after dominating the Oklahoma Sooners at home on Wednesday to the tune of a 76-61 score. In the process, the Bears also snapped a two-game skid against the spread, easily covering their 11-point handicap as home favorites against Oklahoma. So far this season, the Bears are 8-2 against the spread. The Bears have also extended their streak of consecutive double-digit wins to 10 games, the longest in the program’s history. MaCio Teague led Baylor in the Oklahoma game with 17 points, including four triples. The Bears shot 10-of-24 from deep in that contest, which was something to be expected. Baylor is the second-best outside shooting team in the nation, as the Bears are making 43.8 percent of their three-point shots.
Baylor, which is second overall in Division I basketball with 92.9 points per game, are 7-3 against the spread in the last 10 meetings with the Horned Frogs.
Betting on the TCU Horned Frogs (odds)
Record: 9-3 Overall / 2-2 Conference
The Horned Frogs failed to keep the good times rolling, as they saw their five-game win streak end on Tuesday during a 93-64 loss at home to the Kansas Jayhawks. The Jayhawks kept in step with Kansas in the early goings but got wrecked in the second half, where they were outscored by Bill Self’s boys, 44-29. TCU had trouble on the glass against Kansas. The Horned Frogs only had 20 rebounds to 41 by Kansas, which enjoyed controlling the pace of the game due to its dominance in the rebounding battle. The Horned Frogs are going to have to do a better job in getting rebounds against Baylor. What makes TCU a dangerous opponent for any team is its ability to knock down shots from long range. The Horned Frogs are third in Big 12 play with 37.7 percent shooting from behind the arc.
The over is 7-3 in the last 10 games of TCU, which is averaging 71.1 points per contest.
Writer’s Prediction
