The Vols won in their season opener, but it wasn’t the type they had in mind, as they barely edged out the Sun Belt’s Appalachian State in overtime, 20-13. The Hokies, meanwhile, took care of business in their own opener, giving Liberty a 36-13 whipping, though they only led by four points near the end of the second quarter before pulling away. This game is set to be played at Bristol Motor Speedway, where over 150,00 fans are expected to watch live.

Writer’s Prediction

Tennessee (-11.5) wins, 32-28.

San Francisco Giants vs. Arizona Diamondbacks (8:10 PM ET)

Line: Arizona Diamondbacks vs. San Francisco Giants – view all MLB lines

Johnny Cueto has mound duty this Saturday, as the Giants and the D’backs play Game 2 of their three-game series. Cueto is coming off a solid start in which he allowed just an earned run on five hits in seven innings of action, but a poor job by San Francisco’s bullpen wasted his efforts with the team losing 3-2 to the Cubs on September 4.

Cueto will be facing the D’backs barely two weeks after he surrendered four earned runs on five hits across 4.2 innings of a 4-3 loss to Arizona back in August 30. Over at Arizona, the team will give the ball to Archie Bradley, who’s been getting better of late. Bradley is 2-0 in his last two starts, allowing four earned runs on 12 total innings during that span. Arizona is 3-2 in Bradley’s last five home starts.

Writer’s Prediction

San Francisco wins, 3-2.
