The Red Sox look to stop a three-game skid when they play Game 1 of a four-game set against the Angels later tonight. Boston will have David Price on the mound. Price is coming off another ugly start, allowing five earned runs on 11 hits across 5.2 innings of an 11-9 loss to Minnesota on July 23. Price is 5-5 with a 3.59 ERA in 12 career starts opposite the Halos.As for the Angels, they’ll counter with Jered Weaver, who is 2-1 with a 4.24 ERA in three starts thus far this month. Johnny Cueto steps on the mound later tonight with the intention of silencing Washington’s bats. Cueto, who is 13-2 with a 2.53 ERA on the season, was lights out in his last outing despite picking up a no-decision in a 2-1 win over the Yankees on July 23. Cueto tossed six scoreless innings, allowing six hits and striking out nine Yankees.
The Nationals, on the other hand, will give the ball to Tanner Roark, who is 4-2 with a 3.38 ERA in nine road starts this year. The Nationals are 8-2 in Roark’s last 10 starts. Meanwhile, the Giants are 5-2 in their last seven at home.
