Line: Houston Rockets vs. Washington Wizards– view all NBA lines
Just when you thought that the Houston Rockets were about to heat up and climb their way back up in the Western Conference, they fell short to the struggling Brooklyn Nets, who defeated them on Tuesday night, 110-105. James Harden had his worst performance of the season, tallying only 10 points and was 2-for-9 from the field.
[sc:NBA240banner ]But fortunately, a surprising 32-point explosion from Marcus Thornton, who came off the bench, kept things interesting till the very end for the Rockets. Houston will strive to get back on track when they face off with the Wizards.
Speaking of getting back on track, the Wizards succeeded in doing so at the expense of the Miami Heat last Monday night with a 114-103 win. Their backcourt duo in John Wall and Bradley Beal led the way for them with 26 and 21 points respectively. The two should be able to stay hot against a Houston team that’s allowing 107.3 PPG this year, the third-most in the league.
Writer’s Prediction
Washington overcomes a 40-point effort from James Harden with a thrilling 111-107 win.
Los Angeles Lakers vs. Minnesota Timberwolves (8:00 PM ET)
Line: Los Angeles Lakers (+6.5) vs. Dallas Cowboys (-6.5); total; 204.0– view all NBA lines
Kobe Bryant’s farewell tour hasn’t been completely fun to watch. Well, that’s because his Los Angeles Lakers haven’t been winning. They are only 3-18 on the season, which is worst record in their conference.
The Lakers’ latest loss came on Monday night as the Toronto Raptors spoiled Bryant’s final game at the Air Canada Centre with a 102-93 victory. But it was worth noting that Bryant had his most efficient performance of the season, going 8-for-16 from the field for 21 points with eight rebounds and four assists across his name. He’ll hope that he and the rest of the purple and gold could come away with the win versus the Minnesota Timberwolves this time around.
Meanwhile, the T-Wolves could also relate to the Lakers’ struggles. They are currently on a four-game home slide and have fallen to 8-12 on the season. Andrew Wiggins, the team’s top scorer this season with 21.1 PPG, is bound to have an offensive outburst against one of the worst defensive teams in the league.
Writer’s Prediction
Lakers (+6.5) win, 105-101, thanks to another all-around output from the Black Mamba.
