[sc:MLB240banner ]After a day’s rest, Mike Trout and the Angels test whether their bats are still hot when they take on the Houston Astros. The Angels, who beat Texas 13-7 on Sunday, will have lefty C.J. Wilson (8-7, 3.59 ERA) on the mound in the series opener against the Astros. Wilson enters the contest with a 2-1 record and a 2.81 ERA across four starts this month.
The Astros, meanwhile, will counter with Collin McHugh (11-5, 4.25 ERA). McHugh is eyeing his third straight win after beating Boston and Texas in his last two starts, respectively. The Angels are 3-1 in their last four games against Houston, while the Astros are 4-1 in their last five games against southpaw starters.

The A’s are currently riding a four-game losing streak and they hope Sonny Gray will be the one to lead them back to the win column. Gray, who keeps a 10-4 record and a 2.30 ERA, will step on the mound tonight against a Dodgers team that has scored just four total runs in their last two games.
Brett Anderson (5-5, 3.33 ERA) sure wants his teammates to cough up more runs as he makes a start following a week of rest and rehab from an Achilles injury. The A’s are 6-0 in Gray’s previous six road starts, while the Dodgers are 7-3 in Anderson’s last 10 home starts.
Writer’s Prediction
Oakland wins, 4-3.
