Los Angeles’ losing woes show no sign of abating as the Dodgers suffered a 6-5 defeat to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday. It was another disappointing setback for the Dodgers who have now lost each of their last two games. With the loss, the Dodgers dropped to 52-42 in the NL West standings.Pitching has been the main problem for the Dodgers of late, with LA allowing a whopping 15 runs during their last three road games. The onus then is on Scott Kazmir (7-3, 4.52 ERA) to deliver a solid start for the Dodgers tonight. The lefty struggled mightily in his last outing against the San Diego Padres, surrendering three runs on six hits and three walks in just three innings of action.
The Nationals on the other hand, will counter with Reynaldo Lopez, who will be making his Major League debut tonight. Lopez, the Nats’ No. 5 prospect, has racked up 109 strikeouts in 87.1 innings with a 3.19 ERA in 16 starts between Double-A and Triple-A this season.
The Dodgers are 6-4 in their last 10 road games against the Nationals.
Writer’s Prediction
Los Angeles (+108) wins, 4-3.
