Line: San Antonio Spurs (-7.5) at Los Angeles Lakers (+7.5); total 208.5 – view these lines
The Spurs are back to their championship form as evidenced by their come-from-behind victory against the Los Angeles Clippers (89-85) and their double-digit victory over the Golden State Warriors (113-100) in back-to-back games.
With the Spurs trio of Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili in sync, they should be able to show their dominance against the Lakers defense, which surrenders a league-worst 111.5 points per game. However, the Lakers do have Kobe Bryant, who has proven again and again that he still has a lot left in him. Bryant leads the league with 27.5 PPG, and has led the Lakers to a 3-0 ATS record in their last three games. Read on for our complete preview of this game here.
Writer’s Prediction
The Spurs’ (-7.5) depth proves to be too much for the Lakers. Take San Antonio to win and cover in a blowout win.
Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Boston Celtics (7:30 PM ET)
Line: Cleveland Cavaliers (-5.5) at Boston Celtics (+5.5); total 214.0 – view these lines
Despite recording a triple-double (27 points, 19 rebounds and 10 assists) in Game 6 of the 2010 Eastern Conference semifinal, LeBron James found himself on the losing end of what turned out to be his last game in Cleveland before leaving for Miami. Well, James is back with the Cavs, who are on a modest two-game winning streak, and will lead them against a much-changed Celtics team.
The Celtics are fifth in the league in scoring with 104.6 points per game, directed by Rajon Rondo, one of the best point guards in the NBA. Rondo flirted with a triple-double on Wednesday, putting up 20 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds in a losing effort against the Oklahoma City Thunder, which snapped the Celtics’ own two-game win streak.
