Kansas Jayhawks vs. West Virginia Mountaineers (7:00 PM ET)
Line: Kansas Jayhawks (+4.5) at West Virginia Mountaineers (-4.5) – view all NCAA basketball lines
The Kansas Jayhawks improved to 7-0 in Big 12 play with a 79-67 win over the Texas Longhorns. Frank Mason and Devonte Graham combined for 35 points and 12 assists to lead the No. 2-ranked Jayhawks. They now go back on the road, where they are 4-0 during conference play, but are just 1-3 against the spread.
Meanwhile, the West Virginia Mountaineers have fallen to just 3-4 in conference play after they fell to both Oklahoma and Kansas State last week. The Neers will be desperate to snap their losing skid at home, and to deal the still-undefeated Jayhawks their first loss in the Big 12 this season. West Virginia is a perfect 3-0 in its last three meetings against Kansas in Morgantown.
Writer’s Prediction
West Virginia gets the win, but Kansas (+4.5) covers in Morgantown, 78-75.
San Antonio Spurs vs. Toronto Raptors (7:00 PM ET)
Line: San Antonio Spurs (-2.5) vs. Toronto Raptors Hornets (+2.5); total: 209.0 – view all NBA lines
The San Antonio Spurs will take their four-game winning streak into Toronto to face the Raptors. Despite multiple absentees, including Kawhi Leonard, the Spurs still smashed the Brooklyn Nets, 112-86, last night. Leonard sat out with a sore hand, but could make his return tonight. Kawhi is on an unbelievable hot streak at the moment, averaging 34.7 points on 60 percent shooting in his last six games.
As for the Raptors, they will have to snap a three-game losing skid without their top scorer, DeMar DeRozan, who has an injured ankle. DeRozan scored 26 points in the Raptors’ heavy 110-82 road loss to the Spurs earlier this season. Kyle Lowry struggled mightily in that game (6 points on 2-of-9 shooting) and will come into this game struggling as well. He’s shooting just 35 percent over his last three games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Spurs (-2.5) extend their win streak to five with a 108-89 win.
