Memphis Grizzlies vs. Oklahoma City Thunder (8:00 PM ET)
Line: Memphis Grizzlies (+5) at Oklahoma City Thunder (-5); total: 204.5 – view all NBA lines
The Oklahoma City Thunder extended their winning streak to two games with a resounding 109-94 victory over the Chicago Bulls Monday night. Westbrook had 21 points, 14 assists and nine rebounds for the Thunder who snapped their two-game losing streak against Chicago in the regular season. The Thunder dominated inside the paint in that encounter with centers Steven Adams and Enes Kanter combining for 42 points and 16 rebounds.
Things are bound to get tougher, though, for the frontcourt duo as they will next face Memphis tonight. The Grizzlies have the personnel to stop the OKC bigs in Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph. The Grizzlies are plus-25 in 278 minutes with Gasol and Randolph as a pairing this season. The veteran duo showed their worth in Memphis’ titanic comeback against Golden State last Friday, combining for 50 points and 16 boards.
The Thunder are 6-4 SU and 6-3-1 ATS in their last 10 home games against the Grizzlies.
Writer’s Prediction
OKC (-5) wins, 106-100.
Orlando Magic vs. Los Angeles Clippers (10:30 PM ET)
Line: Orlando Magic (+9.5) at Los Angeles Clippers (-9.5); total: 209.0 – view all NBA lines
The LA Clippers will put their four-game winning streak on the line when they lock horns with the Orlando Magic at Staples Center later tonight. The Clippers are coming off an impressive 98-86 victory over the Miami Heat on Sunday. Chris Paul had 19 points and 18 assists for the Clippers who moved to within seven games of the Golden State Warriors for the top spot in the Western Conference standings.
CP3 and the rest of the Clippers will be licking their chops at the prospect of facing an Orlando side that’s just 9-10 on the road this season. The Magic are in the midst of a three-game losing streak, punctuated by a 111-95 defeat to the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday. They remain in Los Angeles to face a Clippers team that has dominated them in their matchups of late. The Magic have lost each of their last six meetings with the Clips. For the Magic to record a major shock tonight, they will need to get a huge performance from Nikola Vucevic. He’s averaging 14.1 points and 9.5 rebounds in 28.7 minutes since making his much-publicized move to the Orlando bench.
The Magic are 6-4 ATS in their last 10 road games against the Clippers.
Writer’s Prediction
LA (-9.5) not only wins but also covers the spread against Orlando.
