The Oklahoma City Thunder will head to their showdown with the Orlando Magic with momentum on their side after beating the Dallas Mavericks in thrilling fashion Tuesday night. The Thunder finished the game with a back-breaking 14-0 run with Russell Westbrook scoring 12 of OKC’s final 14 points. Westbrook recorded his third consecutive triple-double against the Mavs, nabbing 37 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists.
Westbrook will fancy his chances of extending that excellent form against the Magic as he has fared extremely well against them this season. He scored 41 points, grabbed 12 boards and dished out 16 dimes in Oklahoma City’s 119-117 loss to Orlando earlier this season. The Magic, who are coming off a 131-112 loss to Toronto, have covered the spread in each of their last four meetings with the Thunder.
Writer’s Prediction
Oklahoma City (-6) wins, 112-105.
Golden State Warriors vs. San Antonio Spurs (9:30 PM ET)
Line: Golden State Warriors (+4.5) vs. San Antonio Spurs (-4.5); total: 209.0 – view all NBA lines
The last meeting between these two Western Conference powerhouses was a disappointment to say the least with Steve Kerr opting to rest his Golden State stars. The Spurs took full advantage of that fact, trouncing the Warriors, 107-85. With Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green returning to the fold for Golden State this time around. expect a much closer contest between the league’s top two teams.
Only 2.5 games separate the Warriors and the Spurs heading into Wednesday’s crunch showdown. San Antonio, who will look to complete the season sweep against Golden State, has won each of its last five games. The Spurs are coming off an impressive 103-74 victory over defending champions Cleveland. The Warriors, on the other hand, have been on a tear as well, winning each of their last eight outings. Steve Kerr’s men edged past the Houston Rockets on Tuesday, 113-106.
Writer’s Prediction
San Antonio (-4.5) wins a close one, 102-97.
