Cam Newton’s future with the Carolina Panthers (+4500 to win the NFC title) currently looks a bit less clear, and the team will soon find out what they have in Kyle Allen, whom the team will likely rely on for the next several weeks – if not for the rest of the season. Meanwhile, the Arizona Cardinals (+20000) will continue to feature rookie quarterback Kyler Murray. Who wins in this battle of winless teams?

Betting on the Carolina Panthers (0-2)
The biggest storyline from Week 2 for the Panthers is not their 20-14 home loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but days after that. Per several reports, Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is likely to miss at least Week 3 due to a foot issue. If Newton will ultimately be ruled out fo the Cardinals game, the Panthers will go for Kyle Allen to serve as their starting quarterback, while rookie Will Grier will be promoted to the backup role. It’s not a good time for the winless Carolina, but they still have running back Christian McCaffrey, who, despite his letdown performance against Tampa Bay, is always a threat to explode either out of the backfield or downfield. McCaffrey only had 37 rushing yards on 16 carries against Tampa Bay, and caught just two of six targets for a measly total of 16 yards. Greg Olsen, meanwhile, showed he’s got plenty left in the tank with a 110-yard performance on six receptions. With Arizona’s banged-up secondary, the Panthers’ passing attack should be able to take advantage of that.
The under is 3-1 in the Panthers’ last four road games,
Betting on the Arizona Cardinals (0-1-1)
Kyler Murray is still in incubation in the NFL, but he’s gaining experience and getting better under center for the Cardinals, which followed up their tie with the Detroit Lions with a 23-17 road loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2. Murray passed for 349 yards on 25 of 40 completions and got sacked three times for a loss of 20 yards. That said, he was able to get both Christian Kirk and Larry Fitzgerald 100-yard games in the passing attack. The Panthers have a stingy pass defense (third in the league with just 186.0 passing yards allowed per game), but they are porous against the run. Carolina allows 133.0 rushing yards per game, which is 25th overall in the NFL, so expect the Cardinals to see Murray use his ability to run the ball more and feed David Johnson a lot. Johnson has been a disappointment thus far on the season, with just 3.8 yards per carry, but this could be his 2019 breakout game.
The Cardinals are 5-5 against the spread (ATS) in their last 10 home games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Cardinals win, 24-18.
