Betting on the Chicago Bears (odds)
Regular Season Record: 4-10
The Bears are no longer in contention for a spot in the playoffs after losing to the Minnesota Vikings at home in Week 15, 17-9. Chicago’s defense was there for the team in Week 15, as the Bears sacked Kirk Cousins four times and intercepted him once. The Bears even held the Viking to only 13 first downs and just 193 total yards. But Justin Fields and the Bears’ offense simply couldn’t capitalize on plenty of opportunities. But now that they are finally out of the playoff race, the Bears will have lesser pressure on their shoulders to deliver. Fields will continue his development, with th Bears still interested to see what they have in the rookie quarterback. As for their defense, the Bears’ duo of Akiem Hicks and RObert Quinn, who each had two sacks against Minnesota, will look to bottle up Russell Wilson in the pocket.
The Bears are 5-2 against the spread in their last 7 games in Week 16.
Betting on the Seattle Seahawks (odds)
Regular Season Record: 5-8
Seattle took a punch to the gut in the form of a 20-10 road loss to the Los Angeles Rams Tuesday night. Russell Wilson went 17/31 for 156 passing yards and zero touchdowns while also recording an interception. Wilson, however, was missing one of his top weapons in wide receiver Tyler Lockett due to COVID-19-related reasons. With Lockett out, Wilson turned to DK Metcalf a lot, but the hulking wideout only had 52 receiving yards on six catches and 12 targets. Still, the Seahawks are capable of taking down a team like Chicago that also has plenty of issues. At least for Seattle, they have the superior quarterback on Sunday in Wilson, who’s someone Chicago is dreaming Fields to be one day.
The Seahawks are 3-1 against the spread in their last 3 games overall.
Writer’s Prediction
The Seahawks win, 26-20.
