Betting on the Cleveland Cavaliers (45-18)

Cleveland returned to winning ways Wednesday with a 120-111 victory over the Sacramento Kings at Sleep Train Arena. It was a huge bounce-back win for the Cavaliers, who suffered a shocking defeat to the undermanned Memphis Grizzlies in their previous game. With the victory, the Cavs improved their overall record this season to an Eastern Conference-best 45-18 slate.

Starring for the Cavs in this critical road win was LeBron James. He scored 25 points and grabbed 11 boards in 37 minutes of action. James has been tremendous for the Cavaliers this campaign, leading the team not only in points (24.9 PPG) but also in assists (6.6 APG) and steals (1.5 SPG) as well. Also providing a major spark for Cleveland in this contest was Kyrie Irving. He scored a game-high 30 points on 11-of-22 shooting from the field.

They will look to sustain the momentum of that huge win when they take on the Los Angeles Lakers tonight. For the Cavs to accomplish that feat, they will need to continue their excellent play on the offensive end. The Cavs were red-hot from the field against the Kings, with all five of their starters scoring in double-figures. They will be licking their chops at the prospect of facing a Los Angeles defense that’s allowing 106.9 points per game this season, fourth-worst in the NBA.

The Cavs are 5-4-1 ATS in their last 10 road games.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs LA Lakers Predictions – March 2016

The Los Angeles Lakers stretched their unbeaten run to two games with a 107-98 victory over the Orlando Magic on Tuesday night. D’Angelo Russell, Jordan Clarkson and Julius Randle led the way for the Lakers in this contest, scoring 27, 24 and 23 points respectively. It marked the first game that the three young stars each broke the 20-point barrier.

Key to the Lakers’ stunning resurgence has been their excellent play on the offensive end. The Lakers are averaging 109.5 points over their last two games. That’s way above their season average of 97.9 points. That sizzling offense was in full display Tuesday against the Magic where they shot a solid 49.4 percent from the field.

Russell, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2015 draft, shot 11-of-19 from the floor against Orlando. Randle, on the other hand, tied his career high in scoring and notched his 28th double-double this season. They are stepping up big time in the absence of their leader Kobe Bryant who’s still out with a shoulder problem.

The Lakers will have their work cut out for them, however, against a Cleveland defense that allows just 97.4 points per game this season, fourth-fewest in the NBA. Los Angeles lost to Cleveland, 120-111, in their first meeting this campaign.

The Lakers are 6-4 ATS in their last 10 home games.

Writer’s Prediction

The Cavs cruise past the Lakers, 113-101.
