Betting on the Cleveland Guardians (odds)

Regular Season Record: 34-28

After landing on the disabled list because of a thigh injury, right-hander Aaron Civale will be making his return to the mound for the Guardians Tuesday night against the Twins. Civale is 2-3 this season with a 7.84 ERA and 1,52 WHIP. While Civale has been far from good this year, he was solid in his last start in the MLB, allowing zero earned runs on 3 hits in a 6-1 home win over the Detroit Tigers. Being absent for so long, Civale could get roughed up by Minnesota, though, he can expect Cleveland’s offense to give him support. The Guardians, who won two of three games against the Los Angeles Dodgers in their previous series, are providing 5.09 runs per nine innings to their starters this month of June.

The Guardians are 19 – 17 in games this season where they are the visitors.

Betting on the Minnesota Twins (odds)

Regular Season Record: 38-30

The Twins are coming off a 7-1 road loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday. They are 3-4 in their last seven games and 5-5 in their last 10. On the mound for the Twins this Tuesday is Joe Ryan, who owns a 5-3 record with a 2.81 ERA and 1.02 WHIP. Ryan allowed 4 earned runs on 5 hits in his last start, which was a 5-0 road loss to the Seattle Mariners on June 14, but prior to that, he had two consecutive starts in which he allowed just an earned run in each on 9 total hits. Behind Ryan is Minnesota’s robust offense that is slashing .251/.324/.409 this season. The team is laso seventh in the majors with a .733 OPS.

The Over is 7-2-1 in the Twins’ last 10 games as the home team.

Writer’s Prediction

The Twins win, 7-4.
