The 5-6 Denver Broncos are unlikely to win the AFC West division but they can still make a run for the playoffs with a relatively easy schedule ahead of them. That includes a date with the also 5-6 Cincinnati Bengals (+2,000 to win the AFC North) who are having all sorts of problems right now. Will the Broncos capitalize on the opportunity? Or will the Bengals stop their losing skid at the expense of their visitors this coming weekend?

Betting on the Denver Broncos (5-6)
The Bengals caught a big fish in Week 12, as they trounced the Pittsburgh Steelers at home, 24-17. Case Keenum wasn’t spectacular, but was methodical in the pocket, passing for 197 yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions on 15-of-28 completions. The real star of the day for the Broncos, however, was undrafted rookie running back Phillip Lindsay, who rumbled for 110 rushing yards and a touchdown on 14 carries. Denver’s backfield put up 124 rushing yards and could be relied upon to show up again next weekend against the Bengals. After all, Cincinnati does not have the sturdiest of defenses against the run. The Bengals are second worst in the league with 147.5 rushing yards surrendered per game. The Broncos, on the other hand, are ninth in the league with 124.7 rushing yards per game. Speaking of defense, Denver’s pass rush that ranks seventh in the league with 33.0 sacks on the season will come in handy.
The Broncos are 3-0 ATS in their last three road games.
Betting on the Cincinnati Bengals (5-6)
Not even two A.J. Green could help the Bengals get out of their slump right now, as they just have too many problems to deal with that goes beyond am inconsistent offense. Nevertheless, it would be a lot better for them if Green can make this return as soon as possible. The talented receiver missed all of the Bengals’ last three games due to a toe injury, and his absence partly explains why Cincy has gone 0-3 SU over that stretch. His status as of this writing for Week 13 remains up in the air. There’s hope for the Bengals’ offense, though, as they still have running back Joe Mixon and wide receiver Tyler Boyd. Mixon had 89 rushing yards on 14 carries in last Sunday’s 35-209 loss to the Cleveland Browns at home, while Boyd led the team with 85 receiving yards and a touchdown on seven receptions and eight targets.
The over is 3-0 in the Bengals’ last three home games.
Writer’s Prediction
Denver wins, 24-21.
