Betting on the Florida Gators (24-6, 14-3 SEC)
This team plays unselfish basketball. No. 12 Florida averages nearly 80 points per game this season, with three players scoring in double digits: KeVaughn Allen (13.9), Canyon Barry (12.4), and Devin Robinson (11.0).
All three went to work on Wednesday night, leading the Gators to a bounce-back win over Arkansas, 78-65. Allen and Barry finished with 12 points apiece while Robinson pitched in eight points and seven rebounds.
Florida is known for its defense, too, and it showed just that by holding the Razorbacks to shoot just 35.6 collectively from the field. But that defense did not show up in the first meeting with Vandy this season, so it’ll be interesting to see if that becomes the case again in the rematch.
The Gators are 7-3 SU and 6-4 ATS in their last 10 road games.
Betting on the Vanderbilt Commodores (16-14, 9-8 SEC)
Vandy is essentially built around shooters. When their shots fall, they usually win, but when it doesn’t, they lose.
The Commodores, who lead the SEC in three-point shooting, had their stroke going in Saturday’s 73-67 loss to Kentucky, giving them an early 19-point advantage. But they went cold down the stretch and had no response to Malik Monk’s second-half explosion.
Luke Kornet finished with a team-leading 21 points, five rebounds and three threes while Joe Toye added 15 points and also three buckets from down town for the ‘Dores, who missed out on a chance to potentially secure a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
They’ll have one final shot to strengthen their bid in a home game with No. 12 Florida—a team that the ‘Dores already defeated last January at Gainesville. Vandy is 6-4 SU and ATS in their last 10 games at Memorial Gymnasium.
