The No. 11 Auburn Tigers are among the rockstars in the SEC, and they will have another chance that they are among the elite teams in the conference this Saturday in a matchup with the visiting Georgia Bulldogs. The Tigers want to show how big of gap there is between them and Georgia, but are they in for a shock? Georgia is +100,000 to win the national title, while the Tigers have a much shorter price of +3,000 and are a clear favorite in this particular meeting.

Betting on the Georgia Bulldogs (8-5 Overall / 0-1 Conference)
Georgia had to be rushed to the nearest trauma center last Saturday, when they received a 96-50 loss at the hands of the Tennessee Volunteers in Knoxville. It was as lethargic of a performance as any for the Bulldogs, who shot just 32.1 percent from the field, including a 1-for-20 line from deep. Georgia simply didn’t have it in that game, but it will have a chance to recover against the Vanderbilt Commodores on Wednesday at home. After that, it’s the date with No. 11 Auburn Tigers in Auburn, and if the Bulldogs don’t want to have flashes of their experience at the hands of the Vols, they will put a premium on defense. To dictate the tempo, the Bulldogs will have to control the board, which they failed to do against Tennessee. That’s despite the fact that the Bulldogs are ninth in the nation with an average of 42.2 rebounds per game. Conversely, Auburn is only 97th with 37.0 boards per contest.
The Bulldogs are 3-1 agains the spread (ATS) in their last four road games.
Betting on the Auburn Tigers (11-2 Overall / 0-0 Conference)
Auburn’s conference play home debut will be against the Bulldogs, but the Tigers will open their SEC schedule against the Ole Miss Rebels on the road on Wednesday. Auburn looked shaky during December, but its morale got a tremendous shot in the arm last Saturday, when they took down the North Florida Ospreys at home. It was a nice win following a too-close-for-comfort 93-88 home win over the Murray State Racers in which Auburn was a 13.5-point favorite. Like Georgia, the Tigers are a potent offensive team, one that ranks 16th in the nation with 83.7 points per game production. Auburn, however, is a far deadlier sniper from behind the arc, as it is averaging 10.7 3-pointers per game on 35.9 percent shooting from deep. Auburn has four players as of this writing with at least 46 3-pointers on the season, led by senior guard Bryce Brown, who has 114. Brown, who also leads the team with 15.3 points per contest, has three games in which he hit at least five 3-pointers.
Auburn is 6-1 ATS in its last seven home games against Georgia.
Writer’s Prediction
Auburn wins, 79-63.
