Georgia Bulldogs vs Auburn Tigers Predictions, Picks, Odds, and NCAA Football Betting Preview – November 16 2019

The Georgia Bulldogs are avoiding a slip up that could cost them the top spot in the SEC East and a chance to play in the SEC Championship Game down the road, where they could get a ticket back to the College Football Championship. The Auburn Tigers are playing catchup in the SEC East, and are unlikely to get to the top spot in the division, but a win over the Bulldogs could propel them back into the top 10.

Betting on the Georgia Bulldogs (8-1 Overall / 5-1 Conference)

Georgia is probably not yet fully over their soul-crushing loss to the South Carolina Gamecocks last month that took an axe to the  team’s College Football Playoff aspirations, but the Bulldogs are doing a fine job of getting up from that setback. Since then, the Bulldogs have won three straight, including wins over No. 6 Florida Gators in Week 10 and against the Missouri Tigers last Saturday, 27-0. The Bulldogs’ defense was unforgiving against Mizzou, and compensated for a tough day for quarterback Jake Fromm, who finished with only 173 passing yards on 13-of-29 completions, though, he still had a pair of touchdowns. However, Fromm was dealing with the SEC’s best passing defense, which should explain his subpar overall performance. Fromm should be able to find his targets easier this coming weekend against Auburn’s defense that entered Week 11 just ninth in the conference against the pass and tied for second-least interceptions with just give.

The Bulldogs, who woke up Saturday fourth in the nation with just 10.6 points allowed per contest, are 2-0 against the spread (ATS) in their last two games. The under is also 4-0 in their last four games.

Betting on the Auburn Tigers (7-2 Overall / 4-2 Conference)

Bo Nix went off last Saturday in leading the Tigers to a 20-14 win over the Ole Miss Rebels at home. Nix set a career-high with 340 passing yards on 30-of-44 completions and even added a rushing touchdown. However, there were plenty of moments in which Auburn’s offense got stalled, allowing Ole Miss to stick around enough to cover the spread as a 19-point underdog. Auburn’s defense saved the day for Auburn, as the Rebels were only able to come up with 266 total yards (99 passing and 167 rushing). Hopefully for the Tigers, their defense will carry over that fine performance into the next game against the high-powered attack of the Bulldogs. It would be a boost for Auburn’s stop unit if safety Jeremiah Dinson will be able to rejoin the team after missing the Ole Miss game due to a virus. Defensive end Marlon Davidson was also absent because of a back issue.

The Tigers are 5-0 ATS in their last five home games.

Writer’s Prediction

Georgia wins, 29-23.
