Betting on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (11-16)

After facing Virginia’s poisonous defense, the Yellow Jackets will have to deal with Clemson’s own sturdy brand of defense. That said, Georgia Tech had moments in its 72-70 loss to the Tigers at home on Jan. 28, when the Yellow Jackets shot 48.1 percent from the field. For one, they managed to keep the game close by being aggressive, often challenging Clemson’s defense, which was why Georgia Tech got 19 free throw attempts, sinking 15 in that game. Josh Okogie was close to unstoppable in that game, as he went 7-for-10 from the field and 10-for-12 from the foul line to finish with 26 points. Okogie leads the Yellow Jackets with 18.6 points.

Georgia Tech, which allows 67.2 points per game, is 3-1 ATS in its last four meetings with Clemson.

Betting on the Clemson Tigers (20-6)

Unlike the Yellow Jackets in the first meeting, Clemson was a little bit hesitant in mixing it up on offense. While they went 10-for-21 beyond the arc, the Tigers only 6-for-9 from the free throw line. They were lucky their shots from deep were falling because if those weren’t they would have likely absorbed a bad loss at home. That said, the Tigers are really capable of draining outside shots. They are making 8.4 three-pointers per game on 37.7 percent accuracy. Gabe DeVoe led the Tigers against the Yellow Jackets with 25 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the field with five three-pointers. Marcquise Reed, meanwhile, had 13 points and 11 rebounds. Reed tops the Tigers in scoring this season with 15.6 points per game.

Clemson is 9-1 SU and 8-2 ATS in its last 10 home games.

Writer’s Prediction:

Clemson wins, 76-71.
