Betting on the Golden State Warriors (61-6)
In the words of the great LeBron James, Stephen Curry needs to stop it. Curry put up another shooting clinic on Wednesday, as he scored 34 points on 12-for-20 shooting with eight threes to lead Golden State into a 121-85 thrashing of the Knicks at Oracle ArenaThe Warriors now travel to Dallas, where they are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 trips there, in search of win no. 62 this season. Golden State’s most recent visit to American Airline Center wasn’t a memorable one, however, as the Warriors lost there to the Mavs on December 30, 114-91. Curry didn’t play in that game, though, while Klay Thompson had a rare off night, as he scored just 10 points on 4-for-15 shooting. Thompson did turn it around in the next meeting, as he dropped 45 points in a 127-107 home win on January 27.
Andre Iguodala is out for at least one more week because of an ankle injury, but his absence hasn’t seemed to affect the Warriors’ offense. The Warriors are averaging 115.7 points per game on the season and has been better over the last three games, putting up 123.0 PPG during that stretch. Expect them to continue making it rain against Dallas’ defense that is allowing 106.3 points over its last 10 games. Dallas’ particularly weak perimeter defense (allows 8.8 threes per game to opponents) is likely to be torched by Golden State, which leads the league with an insane average of 12.8 three-pointers per game.

Betting on the Dallas Mavericks (34-34)
Dallas is currently eighth in the Western Conference standings, which is far from being safe. A 99-98 loss to Cleveland on Wednesday didn’t help the Mavericks feel any more secure as they drop to .500 again.
The Mavericks got little from their starting lineup against Cleveland. Dirk Nowitzki scored 20 points but the other four Dallas starters combined for only 21 points on 8-for-24 shooting. Instead, Nowitzki got support from the bench with David Lee scoring 20 points and J.J. Barea contributing 17.
It’s not right that the 37-year-old Nowitzki, who tops the team with 18.3 PPG, still has most of Mavs’ scoring burden. Wesley Matthews and the others need to start churning out significant scoring numbers on a constant basis. Matthews has been a major disappointment lately, as the Mavs’ prized offseason pickup managed to score just 10 points with a pathetic sum of two field goals in the last two games. Matthews did have a nice game in Dallas’ win over Golden State back in December, though, notching 13 points with five triples, three boards, and two steals.
Barea’s has been consistent in two games against Golden State this season, scoring 23 in the first meeting and 13 in the second.
David Lee could be big factor for Dallas later tonight. Lee, who was still in a Celtics uniform in Dallas’ previous matchups with Golden State, is an aggressive rebounder and a solid around-the-rim scorer that gives the Mavericks added muscle in the paint. Dallas dominated Golden State inside in the December game, outscoring the Warriors in the paint, 46-26.
The under is 4-1 in the last five games of Dallas, which averages 102.4 PPG this season.
