Golden State Warriors vs LA Clippers Predictions, Picks, Odds and Betting Preview – January 6 2018

The Golden State Warriors (30-8) are currently 15-3 straight up but 8-10 against the spread when playing on the road, something ATS bettors will want to take note of going into this game against the Clips, as some expect the spread favoring the Warriors to be inflated. When playing at Staples Center, the Los Angeles Clippers are both 10-7 SU and ATS, fueling the fire for wagerers who may give the points to LA.

The Golden State Warriors are looking to close out a three-game road trip with a win on Saturday in Los Angeles against the Clippers. Bettors are stoked for the California state matchup between the top two teams in the Pacific Division. Saturday’s event will be the second of four Warriors-Clippers meetings this season. Golden State claimed the first game, winning in dominating fashion by a score of 141-113 on the road, back on October 30. That win made it the 11th straight regular season victory over the Clippers and the Dub squad will be looking to make it a cool dozen.

In 32 games this season, Austin Rivers has averaged career-highs in points (15.8), assists (3.6), steals (1.25), three-point percentage (40.5%). That is also why he is also averaging a career high in minutes (32.7). The guard is the weapon the Clippers need to complement the team effort to beat the Warriors this Saturday. So what’s the problem? Rivers is out with an ankle injury for two-more weeks (at press).
The Clippers are also coming off of an at-home 127-117 Thursday night loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, thanks to yet another Westbrook triple-double. To be fair, the big three pulled their weight, as Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan and Lou Williams (who won Player of the Week for the Western Conference) got 24, 26 and 26 points respectively. But when playing equally deep teams, they need that 15.8 points from their currently absent guard. Can they pull it together (sans Rivers) to put up a respectable fight against the Warriors?

Writer’s Prediction:

The Los Angeles Clippers are cooked in this Saturday’s meeting with the Golden State Warriors. It doesn’t take an in-depth betting analysis to see the writing on the wall (Staple Center) here. Pick: Golden State Warriors to win and cover with ease.
