Anthony Davis may have played his last game for the New Orleans Pelicans, but that’s something the team isn’t sweating much, since they’re already out of the running for a playoffs spot for a long time now. Still, it would be nice for the Pels to take down the defending NBA champs in the Golden State Warriors (-200 to win the title this year) at home before packing their bags for what seems to be a much-needed vacation.

Betting on the Golden State Warriors (56-24)
The Warriors made their last regular-season game at Oracle Arena a memorable one, as the defending champions clobbered the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday, 131-104. Stephen Curry was in top form in that contest, leading his team with 27 points, while the other four starters each scored at least 10 points and the bench producing a hefty total of 54 points. There’s no signs of slowing down for the Warriors, especially on the offensive side of things. Over their last five games, they have averaged 122.4 points on an excellent 53.0 percent shooting from the field. Although they have clinched the top seed in the Western Conference ahead of the playoffs, the Warriors still have something to play for, and that’s momentum, but don’t be surprised if any of their key players get some rest in the last two games of the season. The Warriors beat New Orleans in two meetings – both in the Bay Area — this season, scoring a 131-121 victory at home back in November and a 147-140 triumph last January. Curry averaged 39.0 points on 54.8 field goal percentage in those games.
Golden State is 3-1 against the spread (ATS) in its last four road games.
Betting on the New Orleans Pelicans (33-48)
It’s the last game of the season for New Orleans this coming Tuesday, a team that can’t wait for its 2018-19 NBA campaign to conclude. The Pelicans surely want to punctuate an otherwise forgettable season on a positive note –and on a winning streak, having defeated the Sacramento Kings last Sunday on the road, 133-129. Elfrid Payton stuffed that stat sheets with an all-around brilliant performance, scoring 26 points and dishing out 14 assists to go with six rebounds and six blocks. He had six turnovers, but he’s delivered more than he hurt his team with his errors, obviously. Jahlil Okafor, meanwhile, played like he’s back in Duke Blue Devils threads again, chipping in 24 points and pulling down 14 rebounds. With Jrue Holiday out for the season and Anthony Davis very much unlikely to suit up for New Orleans in their season finale, expect Payton and Okafor to lead the way for the Pelicans, who have been making it rain from downtown of late. They averaged 14.5 3-points over their last three games, which includes the Sacramento game in which New Orleans lost its minds from deep and drained 19 3-pointers on 42 attempts.
The over is 3-1 in New Orleans’ last four home games.
Writer’s Prediction
Golden State wins, 121-107.
