NBA News & Predictions

Betting on the Golden State Warriors (-300)

Point Spread: -7

The Golden State Warriors are going for the sweep here, but they’re going to have to do so, again, without Kevin Durant (calf), Shaun Livingston (finger); Matt Barnes (foot) and their head coach Steve Kerr, who could potentially miss the rest of the postseason due to his back issues.

It won’t be easy, but as long as Stephen Curry plays like a two-time MVP, things should turn out well for the Warriors, who received 34 points with eight assists from the former Davidson star in their come-from-behind win in Game 3. Curry is averaging 27.3 points and four threes per game in this entire series against Portland.

Klay Thompson added 24 points, with four three-pointers, in the same game, while Andre Iguodala and JaVale McGee led the bench with 16 and 14 markers, respectively. Draymond Green also flexed his muscle everywhere, gathering nine points, eight boards, seven assists and six blocks.

Betting on the Portland Trail Blazers (+250)

Point Spread: +7

Both Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum have been torching the box score in this series, averaging 25.7 and 28.0 points, respectively. But those efforts have been wasted thanks to the Portland Trail Blazers’ inability to contain the Warriors’ offense, which led the league in scoring in the regular season.

Rip City’s allowed no less than 110 points in each of the first three games.

The Blazers got a relatively huge boost from the returning Jusuf Nurkic in Game 3, who grabbed 11 rebounds and tallied four assists in less than 20 minutes of play. He said he felt pain on his leg right after the game and is likely ruled out for Game 4.

Thus, Portland’s chance of staying alive greatly depends on how well Lillard and McCollum play, as well as how much support those two can get from their teammates.

Al-Farouq Aminu put up 14 points with nine rebounds to lead the Blazers’ second unit in the previous game.

Writer’s Prediction

Portland (+7) wins, 122-117.
