Betting on the Golden State Warriors (60-14)
The Warriors extended their winning streak to eight (6-2 ATS) in their 113-106 win over the Rockets. The splash brothers, as expected, provided much of the goods, with Stephen Curry scoring 32 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, and Klay Thompson adding 25, including five threes.
Their defense also came up big. James Harden only made five of his 20 shots and Houston went an awful 5-for-31 from long distance.
All season long, the Dubs are among the top teams in various stat categories. They are number one in points (115.9 PPG), assists (30.4 PPG), field goal shooting (49.5 percent), steals, blocks, and offensive efficiency, and second in defensive efficiency.
The great stretch they are in will be perfect in trying to finally get a W against the Spurs this season, a team that blew them out in their two previous meetings.
Betting on the San Antonio Spurs (57-16)
The Spurs just got done devouring the Cleveland Cavaliers, 103-74. They displayed another balanced attack, as 13 different guys scored, led of course by Kawhi Leonard registering 25 points, six rebounds, and six assists. With the win, San Antonio has now won five straight and 16 of their last 19 games (8-11 ATS).
In the current winning streak, the Spurs’ offense dishes out 26.2 assists and outscores foes by 13.4 points per game. The defense, meanwhile, which ranks second in points allowed and first in efficiency, is letting their last four opponents commit 17 turnovers per contest.
As mentioned, their season series with the Warriors currently stands at 2-0. They embarrassed them in the season opener, 129-100, with Leonard recording a game-high 35 points and five steals, and LaMarcus Aldridge posting a 26-point, 14-rebound double-double. The Spurs then followed it up with another rout just two weeks ago 107-85, wherein their bench players battled the Dubs’ bench players.
Writer’s Prediction
The Spurs (-4.5) win, 106-104.
