Betting on the Houston Rockets (+8.5)

To say that the Rockets got destroyed in Game 3 would be a massive understatement. They were crushed, bludgeoned, and nearly got killed by Golden State. The Rockets didn’t help themselves by committing too many turnovers –19 to be exact – while also shooting just 39.5 percent from the field. Conversely, Houston was not able to slow down the Warriors’ offense. All that became the recipe for disaster for the Rockets, who only got 33 points from James Harden and Chris Paul. The two were a lot better in Game 2 in which they combined for 43 points. PJ Tucker can’t score 22 points every game just like he did in Game 2 – he had six on Sunday – so the Rockets remain heavily dependent on what Harden and Paul will do on the court.

The Rockets are 3-1 ATS in their last four road games.

Betting on the Golden State Warriors (-8.5)

After struggling in the first two games of the series, Stephen Curry has now come back to life. The two-time NBA MVP powered Golden State on Sunday by scoring 35 points on 13-for-23 shooting from the field. He also had five 3-pointers, which was four more than his total in Games 1 and 2. Kevin Durant had 25 points. With Curry finally out of a slump, the Warriors’ loss in Game 2 looks like an aberration more than anything else right now. Now that he’s clicked from the field, Houston is going to have to change its game plan as whatever they had going into Game 3 certainly did not work. The Warriors are averaging 110.6 points per game in the playoffs on 47.3 shooting from the floor.

They are also 7-0 SU and 4-3 ATS in their last seven games in Oakland.

Writer’s Prediction:

Golden State wins, 115-111.
