The No. 21 Indiana Hoosiers are looking to rebound from a loss to No. 2 Michigan Wolverines last weekend. They could get that pick-me-up win this coming Saturday on the road against the Maryland Terrapins, though, they will really have to work for it, as the Terps can be a tricky team to deal with – even for ranked teams. Going into this Friday game, Maryland is listed with +8000 odds to win the 2019 NCAA basketball championship while Indiana is priced at +6000 to do the same.

Betting on the Indiana Hoosiers (12-3 Overall / 3-1 Conference)
The Hoosiers’ seven-game winning streak came to an end last Saturday in a 74-63 road loss to the Michigan Wolverines. But even in a loss to a national powerhouse, the Hoosiers pair of Juwan Morgan and Romeo Langford glowed and showed promise for a team that could expect better things from the tandem. Morgan scored 25 points on 9-for-22 shooting from the field and had eight rebounds. Those are not easy numbers to put up regardless of opponent, but Morgan actually did it against the Wolverines’ defense – ranked fourth in KenPom’s adjusted defensive efficiency. Meanwhile, Langford, a projected first-round pick in the next NBA Draft, had 17 points, six rebounds, and two assists. He went 6-for-6 from the foul line, and his ability to get in the lane and fish fouls could be further magnified by Maryland, which is 20th nationally in fouls per game (15.5).
The under is 4-1 in the Hoosiers’ last five road games.
Betting on the Maryland Terrapins (12-3 Overall / 3-1 Conference)
The Terrapins are trying to make their March Madness look good again. They have partly done that with a recent 74-72 win over No. 24 Nebraska Cornhuskers at home on Jan. 3, which was followed by a 77-63 road win over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on Jan. 5. Against Rutgers, five Terps scored in double figures. Jalen Smith led the team with 16 points, while Anthony Cowan Jr. and Eric Ayala had 15 and 11 points, respectively. Cowan is the man to watch for the Terrapins, as he’s leading the team in scoring with 16.5 points per game. Fernando is right behind Cowan with 14.5 per contest. It’s the Terps’ defense and rebounding which will be the top keys to victory for Maryland. The Terps are 42nd in the nation with 65.5 points per game, while also limiting opponents down to only 40.4 percent shooting from the field. Maryland also considerably better on the glass than Indiana. The Terps are averaging 40.3 rebounds per game, while the Hoosiers get just 36.3 per outing.
Maryland is 3-2 against the spread (ATS) in its last five home games.
Writer’s Prediction
Indiana wins, 74-70.
