Betting on the Indianapolis Colts (2-2)

The Colts got victimized by the Oakland Raiders in Week 4, 31-24. Jacoby Brissett passed for 265 yards and three touchdowns with an interception on 24-of-46 completions, while Marlon Mack rushed for 39 yards on 11 carries. Mack appeared to hurt his ankle in that game, as he exited to the sidelines and never returned. However, head coach Frank Reich clarified later on that Mack is not dealing with anything serious, as he only decided to bench Mack with the game out of the Colts’ reach.  The Colts are seventh in the NFL with 132.5 rushing yards per game, and Mack should have a big role against the Chiefs’ defense that is second-worst in the league in stopping the run. Kansas City is allowing 149.8 rushing yards per game and 23.5 points per contest. But Brissett has to establish the passing game first and be successful with it before having the luxury of running the ball at their own pace.

The Colts are 3-1-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last five games on the road.

Betting on the Kansas City Chiefs (4-0)

The Chiefs escaped Week 4 unschated — and that’s despite Patrick Mahomes not throwing a touchdown pass. Mahomes went 24 for 42 for 315 yards in a 34-30 road win over the Detroit Lions. LeSean McCoy handled most of the load in the ground attack with Damien Williams out. McCoy rushed for 56 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries, while Travis Kelce led the team with 85 receiving yards on seven catches and eight targets. Williams is dealing with a knee issue, and it remains uncertain whether he’ll be on the field on Sunday at home against the Colts. That said, McCoy has proven to be a capable lead back for the Chiefs, a role that he’s been so used to serving. The Chiefs are the No. 1 scoring team in the NFL with 33.8 points per game. They are also second with 474.8 total yards per contest.

The Chiefs are 3-1 ATS in their last four home games.

Writer’s Prediction
