Indianapolis Colts – 2013 NFL Team Preview

2012-2013 Regular Season: 11-5 SU | 11-5 ATS
2012-2013 Postseason: 1-1 SU | 1-1 ATS

Rookie Andrew Luck ran Peyon Manning out of town and led the Indianapolis to a shocking 11-5 SU record. That was an amazing turnaround considering the team only won 2 games the previous season. At home the Colts were nearly unbeatable, losing once. They were 7-1 SU at home, tied with 4 other teams in second place in the league overall for best home record. It was the same story against the spread for the Colts, finishing the regular season with an 11-5 ATS card. They were also tied with the Seattle Seahawks for first place overall in the league for best home ATS winning record, going 7-1 against the spread.

The Colts are expected to challenge the Houston Texans for the division title and much of that hope is based on Andrew Luck improving on already All-Pro rookie numbers (4,374 yards, 23 TD). Their chances of doing so got a boost in the offseason when the team signed quarterback Matt Hasselbeck as a potential mentor and signed safety LaRon Landry. Indianapolis is currently sitting at  prices of +250 odds to win the division, +1800 odds to win the AFC Championship, and hold 2014 Super Bowl odds priced at +3,300

Indianapolis takes on last year’s NFC Champion, the San Francisco 49ers in Week 3. The Colts have been successful against the NFC over the past years, going 7-1 SU in their last 8 games against NFC teams and have covered the spread 5 times in that same stretch. Two weeks later, they pay fellow rookie standout Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks a visit. They have beaten the Seahawks twice in their last 3 meetings and are 3-1 ATS in their last 4 games in Seattle.
