Betting on the Jacksonville Jaguars (-4.0)

Regular Season Record: 7-8

The Jaguars are suddenly on top of the AFC South division after beating the New York Jets on the road in Week 16, 19-3, and seeing the Tennessee Titans lose to the Texans in the same week. Jacksonville is also now on a three-game win streak and has won four of its last five outings. The Jaguars lost to Houston back in Week 5 at home (13-6) but that version of Jacksonville could seem unrecognizable compared to the one that’s played of late. For one, Trevor Lawrence is on a roll, passing for 915 yards and seven touchdowns against just an interception in the last three Jacksonville games.

The Jaguars are 5-1-1against the spread in their last seven games overall.

Bet on the Jacksonville Jaguars

Betting on the Houston Texans (+4.0)

Regular Season Record: 2-12-1

It’s not always that the Texans walk into the game this season coming off a win. Enjoying a rare momentum, Davis Mills and the Texans will look to victimize the Jaguars anew in 2022. When Houston beat the Jags earlier this season, running back Dameon Pierce rushed for 99 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries. Pierce is not available due to injury this time around, but Houston still has Royce Freeman and Dare Ogunbowale. Houston’s defense also made a difference in that win over Jacksonville, coming away with two interceptions, while holding the Jags to only 6/13 on third downs. On the season, Houston is ninth in the NFL with 1.5 takeaways per game.

The Texans are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games against Jacksonville.

Writer’s Prediction

The Jaguars win, 23-18.
