Here we go. A potential preview of Super Bowl 53 is on tap on Monday, as the 9-1 Kansas City Chiefs and the also 9-1 Los Angeles Rams will duke it out at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum – not in Mexico City as originally planned. Which team will get to 10 wins first?
Going into the game the sportsbook favors the Rams by over a field goal. The sportsbook’s NFL Futures also like Los Angeles over Kansas City in the playoffs as the Chiefs are priced at +500 to win Super Bowl 53, while the Rams are +325 to win take home the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Betting on the Kansas City Chiefs (9-1)
It’s unfair to think that the Chiefs now have a defense to complement their deadly defense, but that exactly was the case last week in Kansas City’s 26-14 home win over the Arizona Cardinals. Granted that that win was at the expense of the going-nowhere Cardinals, it’s still encouraging for Chiefs fans to see their team generate five sacks. If the Chiefs could carry over that kind of pass rush effectiveness against the Rams, they should make life a bit harder for LA quarterback Jared Goff, who is already missing one of his key weapons in Cooper Kupp. In any case, the Chiefs will still go as far as where their offense takes them. The same offense that ranks second in the NFL with 35.3 points per game and third in total offense with 423.1 total yards per contest. Against the Cardinals, quarterback Patrick Mahomes had 249 passing yards and two touchdowns on 21-of-28 completions. The Chiefs could also exploit Los Angeles’ leaky run defense that is surrendering 121.7 rushing yards per game – just 23rd in the NFL.
The Chiefs are 6-0 against the spread (ATS) in their last six road games (5-0 this season) and 4-1 straight up when playing away from home on the season so far.
Betting on the Los Angeles Rams (9-1)
There were some nervous moments, but the Rams held on tight and defeated the Seattle Seahawks, 36-31, at home last week. It was a nice rebound for the Rams, who were then coming off their first loss of the season against the New Orleans Saints. As mentioned earlier, the Rams will not have wide receiver Cooper Kupp, who suffered a torn ACL in the Seattle game. In other words, Kupp is very much likely done for the season – a shot in the gut of the Rams’ offense. Josh Reynolds is expected to step up in the absence of Kupp and the Rams’ passing attack will look to test their offense against the Chiefs’ defense that may be showing some signs of life, but is still ranked 29th in the league with 289 passing yards allowed per contest. Plus, the Rams remain with a healthy Todd Gurley in their backfield. Gurley rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown against the Seahawks.
The Rams have won all 5 home games straight up (SU) this season BUT they are 2-2-1 ATS in LA, something bettors will want to take note of. The over is 2-0 in the Rams’ last two games.
Writer’s Prediction
Kansas City wins, 30-27.
