Whether Kyler Murray will be a good NFL quarterback is up for debate, but his status as one of the best in the amateur ranks today is no longer a question. This coming Saturday, Murray and the No. 6 Oklahoma Sooners (+2500 to win the College Football Championship) will let the Kansas Jayhawks have a taste of their electrifying offense. But will the Jayhawks bite and at least keep it close enough to cover the heavy 36.5-point spread?

Betting on the Kansas Jayhawks (3-7 Overall / 1-6 Conference)
Kansas added to its seemingly forgettable season with a 21-17 road loss to the Kansas State Wildcats last Saturday. It was a heartbreaking defeat for the Jayhawks, who were ahead late in the game, but what would have been a win was stolen from them when the Wildcats scored on a go-ahead touchdown run with a little over five minutes remaining on the clock. The Jayhawks got the ball back, but fumbled the ball in the next drive – their last in the game. Kansas shot itself in the foot with two turnovers in the Wildcats game, one from quarterback Peyton Bender’s late-game fumble and the another fumble from freshman running back Pooka Williams Jr. Kansas, however, doesn’t turn the ball over that often, as the Jayhawks have the 14th lowest giveaway average with 1.0 per game, so they should be able to do a better job securing the ball against the Sooners’ defense that’s not known for its ability to force turnovers.
The under is 4-1 in Kansas’ last five road games.
Betting on the Oklahoma Sooners (9-1 Overall / 6-1 Conference)
It’s not called Bedlam Series for nothing. It was total madness in Norman last week, as the Sooners edged the visiting Oklahoma State Cowboys in a 48-47 win, their fourth in a row. As usual, the Sooners’ high-octane offense came through. Quarterback Kyler Murray went 21-of-29 for 349 passing yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for 66 yards on 14 carries. But the real star of the Sooners’ offense in that game was freshman running back Kennedy Brooks, who ran circles around the Cowboys’ defense for 165 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries. Sophomore running back Trey Sermon joined in on the fun and posted 124 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns on 16 attempts. Kansas can be stout at times on defense, but it has never seen quite an offense like that of the Sooners, who are tops in the nation with a dizzying average of 49.0 points per game. They also hold the highest total offense average in the FBS with 577.1 total yards per contest.
Oklahoma is 6-3-1 ATS in its last 10 home games.
Writer’s Prediction
Oklahoma wins, 41-13.
