Betting on Leicester City (+108)
Hopefully for Leicester City, their success thus far in the Champions League will spill over into the EPL, where they are just 12th with only seven points.
The Foxes come into Sunday’s game having won their last outing, defeating FC Porto 1-0 on September 27. It was a nice bounce back victory after they were bludgeoned by Manchester United in a previous Premier League matchup, 4-1.
Playing at King Power Stadium could help Leicester City return to their winning ways in the domestic league, considering their fine form at home. The Foxes have won two games at home to go with a goalless draw with Arsenal back in August. Moreover, the Foxes have seven wins all-time at home against Southampton, the club’s most versus any opponent in the Premier League.
The defending EPL champions, however, will be banking more on their on-the-field play than on the location of this game. Jamie Vardy will be leading the attack of the Foxes. Vardy paces the team with two league goals.
Betting on Southampton (+225)
Like Leicester City, Southampton are in the middle of the pack in the EPL table. They look to improve their record this Sunday as they pay King Power a visit.
The Saints enter their showdown not lacking in confidence despite their aforementioned failures in trying to win in Leicester City. For one, Southampton is on an five-match undefeated streak. That stretch includes a pair of EPL wins over West Ham (3-0) and Swansea (1-0). The Saints were last seen on the field taking a goalless draw with Hapoel Be’er Sheva in the Europa League last Thursday.
Charlie Austin will have a target on his back, as he’s been playing well so far this season. The striker has netted a goal in each of the Saints’ two EPL contests.
Southampton’s defense also holds a big key in stealing a win on the road. They have not allowed a goal in any of their past five games.
Writer’s Prediction
