Betting on Leicester City (-153)
Are Leicester City suffering from an English Premier League hangover? The reigning and defending league champions have yet to score a victory two games into the season and they will give it another go today when they host Swansea City at King Power Stadium.Leicester City lost the opener in shocking fashion, bowing down to underdogs Hull. They did better in the following matchup, a showdown with Arsenal, but that one ended in a scoreless draw.
Nevertheless, the Arsenal game showed tremendous defense up front from the Foxes, who prevented the Gunners from scoring despite being outshot, 13-8.
The Foxes need their offense to make its full presence finally felt if they want to avoid an early season free fall.
Manager Claudio Ranieri must be disappointed to see his club put up just one goal so far on the season but he definitely has confidence on his men. After all, he has at his disposal, Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez. Both players finished inside the top 10 of scoring last season with 24 and 17 goals, respectively.
Betting on Swansea City (+345)
Like the Foxes, Swansea City are coming off a loss, as they were handed with a 2-0 setback at the hands of Hull on August 20.
Swansea City, however, at least have already scored a victory this season thanks to a 1-0 win over Burnley in the opener. The Swans also gained momentum from a 3-1 victory against Peterborough in the EFL Cup on August 23.
Manager Francesco Guidolin is counting on Oliver McBurnie to keep his swag and play just as well against the Foxes as he did when he scored two goals in the Peterborough. Of course, play in the EPL is on another level but the Swans need all hands on deck in facing the defending league champions.
Despite their inability to find the back of the net against Hull, Swansea City created lots of scoring opportunities. They won the possession battle with 23 shots on goal compared to the two by Hull.
