Betting on the Miami Dolphins (0-5)

You gotta give it Miami’s coaching staff and players for still trying to win despite the muddy circumstances their management has put them in. The Dolphins nearly got their first win of the season last Sunday, losing by the thinnest of margins to the Washington Redskins at home, 17-16. Miami tried to go for the win late in the game by attempting a two-point conversion, but ended up failing. Nevertheless, it’s good to see them trying. Josh Rosen was benched in that game for Ryan Fitzpatrick, and whether Rosen will get another start is something that’s up in the air. With Miami, anything is possible, especially with the team fighting for nothing other than the No. 1 pick in next year’s NFL Draft. Still, Miami has been gradually playing better, especially on defense, as they have allowed fewer points in each game since Week 1’s 59-10 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

The under is 7-3 in Miami’s last 10 road games.

Betting on the Buffalo Bills (4-1)

The Bills are fresh off a bye in Week 6, and it seems that they will get a “half-bye” this week with just the horrendous Dolphins on their plate. Before their extra week of rest, the Bills scored a 17-14 win over the Tennessee Titans on the road. The Bills’ defense was fantastic, as they did not allow a passing touchdown while also bringing Marcus Mariota down five times for a loss of 33 yards for Tennessee. Josh Allen, meanwhile, had 219 passing yards and two touchdowns with an interception, while the ageless Frank Gore rushed for 60 yards on 14 carries. The Bills could get a boost on offense with Devin Singletary on pace to play this Sunday after missing games due to a hamstring injury. In any case, Allen and company can’t ask for a weaker defense to test them than the Dolphins, who are  allowing the most points (36.0) and yards (439.8) per game.

The Bills are 6-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last seven home games against Miami.

Writer’s Prediction

The Bills win, 30-13.
