Toronto Blue Jays vs. New York Yankees (7:05 PM ET)
Line: Toronto Blue Jays (EVEN) New York Yankees (-110); total: 8.0 – see all MLB lines
[sc:MLB240banner ]After getting swept on the road by the Baltimore Orioles in a three-game set, the Blue Jays now visit New York to begin their last series this season with the Bronx Bombers. Toronto will have R.A. Dickey (13-12, 3.84 ERA) on the mound, whose last three starts have all translated to wins for the Blue Jays. He’ll be in a duel with Yankees pitcher Shane Greene (5-3, 3.56 ERA). New York is 6-2 in Greene’s last eight starts.
Writer’s prediction: New York wins.
Washington Nationals vs. Miami Marlins (7:10 PM ET)
Line: Washington Nationals at Miami Marlins – see all MLB lines
If the Nationals past performances against Miami’s Brad Hand (3-7, 4.36) are any indication, then they will likely be adding another win to their record tonight. Washington is 4-0 in the last four meetings with Hand, who has a high 8.03 ERA during that span. Miami, however, appears to have the Nationals’ number. The Marlins are 4-1 in their last five games against Washington.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. St. Louis Cardinals (8:15 PM ET)
Line: Milwaukee Brewers (+130) at St. Louis Cardinals (-140); total: 7.0 – see all MLB lines
Shelby Miller (10-9, 3.75 ERA) has been superb on the mound this month, having collected a 2-0 record with a remarkable 0.45 ERA in three starts thus far in September. The team’s record against Milwaukee when he has the ball is even more impressive, as St. Louis is 7-0 in Miller’s last seven starts opposite the Brewers. Meanwhile, the Brewers, who are also making a run for a wild card spot in the NL, have won five of their last seven games.
Writer’s prediction: Milwaukee wins.
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Chicago Cubs (8:05 PM ET)
Line: Los Angeles Dodgers (-162) at Chicago Cubs (+147) – see all MLB lines
A change of scenery could just be what the doctor ordered for the Dodgers, who are coming off back-to-back road losses against the Colorado Rockies. Los Angeles was heavily outscored by the Rockies in those games, 26-6, and the Dodgers will try to recover from those pair of nightmares as they make their way to Wrigley Field, where they are 4-0 in their last four games there. The Cubs, on the other hand, are 7-3 in their last 10 home games, and will have Japanese Tsuyoshi Wada (4-3, 3.34 ERA) later on the mound. The Cubs are 3-1 in Wada’s last four starts overall.
Writer’s prediction: Los Angeles wins.
Seattle Mariners vs. Los Angeles Angels (10:00 PM ET)
Line: Seattle Mariners at Los Angeles Angels – see all MLB lines
The Angels exploded once again at the plate last night, scoring all of their five runs in the seventh inning to break away from Seattle for a 5-0 win. It’s the kind of offense Felix Hernandez (14-5, 2.14 ERA) will have to deal with later. The Mariners, though, are 3-0 in King Felix’s last three starts in Anaheim. The other half of tonight’s blockbuster pitching matchup is Jered Weaver (17-8, 3.50 ERA), who is 9-4 with a 2.60 ERA in 17 home starts thus far this season. The Angels are also 8-2 in his last 10 appearances at home.
Writer’s prediction: Seattle wins.
