Game Preview
The Baltimore Ravens’ woes continue after suffering their fifth defeat this season. They’re on to the worst start in franchise history, going 1-5 through the first six weeks of the year. The Ravens were torched by the arm of Colin Kaepernick at San Francisco in a 25-20 loss. Things don’t figure to get much better on the road against Arizona’s Carson Palmer.
[sc:NFL240banner ]Palmer is one of the top quarterbacks in the league, passing for about 290 yards per game. He now has 14 touchdown passes, just one behind league leader Aaron Rodgers’ 15. The Arizona quarterback should have the tools he needs to torch Baltimore’s secondary. Wide receiver John Brown was spectacular with over 190 yards receiving, but no touchdowns in a 25-13 loss at Pittsburgh.
The Ravens could answer with their own passing game if Joe Flacco shakes off his bad performance in Week 6. While Flacco threw for 343 yards and two touchdowns against the 49ers, he threw two interceptions leading to field goals against the Ravens. The Ravens quarterback will likely turn to leading receiver Steve Smith Sr.
Smith should have a monster game after racking up 137 yards receiving and a score against the 49ers, while playing with microfractures on his back. He was also targeted two more times in the end-zone, but dropped both.

Hot Wager
Underdogs are 5-1 ATS and 4-2 SU in Monday Night Football games thus far (pending Week 6’s MNF). The Ravens would be a hot pick against the Cardinals, considering they’ve been covering machines in their last five games as underdogs as the trends above indicate. They’re also on a four-game win streak against the Arizona Cardinals.
Arizona has looked strong this season, but remains vulnerable against run-heavy teams such as Pittsburgh and St. Louis. The Ravens’ Justin Forsett has been a strong runner recently to rack up the fourth-most rushing yards (457) this season, despite averaging just 41.3 yards through the first three games.
Writer’s Prediction
While the Ravens could loser another tight contest, they should be able to do enough to cover the spread. An upset isn’t unlikely if everything falls right for Baltimore. Create a betting account now and test your hand on the exciting primetime games of the NFL.
